Hello there, sit back and check out what has been going on with Rice Picker Entertainment |
As you guys may or may not know (or just don’t care about :P), I created an official channel on Youtube and an official page on Facebook for Rice Picker Entertainment. As one of the co-creators of Rice Picker Entertainment, Josef Santos, Justin Akine, and myself have a dream of taking our independent company to the next level as a full on production company. To be honest, I never saw myself being a filmmaker until my senior year of high school (see our first video: You Know You’re Asian). If you know the story behind our company, you’ll know that Josef is the one who encouraged that we take Rice Picker Entertainment to bigger things. The three of us think that next big thing will be video streaming on the Internet; actually, that big thing is happening NOW. If you don’t see it, this world is changing fast and people are starting to use their computers and electronics more for watching movies and videos.
In my opinion, I feel that our company should take advantage of these social video streaming sites. Of course, this inspiration to do such a thing came from our favorite Youtubers, Wong Fu Productions. The three of them had the similar dream and look where they are now.
Yes this is probably one of those “chasing your dream” moments, but the three of us are crazy enough to pursue that career as filmmakers. Of course at this point it is only myself because Akine and Josef are pursuing their interests (engineer and Navy Corpsman, respectively). But those careers are just a safety net. I have a safety net as well, but these “safety nets” won’t stop us from our dreams.
I know that everyone has a similar dream to make it big, so I understand if you don’t want to help us at the moment. But for those of you who have been supportive since the beginning, thank you all! I’d give you something, but I’m a college student who has no money. Please help us out, maybe one day we’ll be on the big screen!
